Rwanda has two other wildlife reserves of note – the Nyungwe National Park in the southwest and the Akagera National Park in the east. Rwanda’s most famous wild inhabitants live not far from Rubavu, in the Volcanoes National Park. This is the best-known location for tracking the endangered mountain gorilla.

Day 1

Meet and greet at the airport and be transported to Kigali, the capital of Rwanda to your accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, stroll the streets of the capital to acclimatize yourself and fit into the Rwandan way. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2

As we drive through the city and pass through the scenic country of 1000 hills all draping in unending lush green vegetation cover towards Ruhengeri, the land of the endangered Mountain Gorilla. Have lunch at the lodge. We give you time to have sufficient rest as you restore your energies for your gorilla trek. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3

After an early morning breakfast and we get ready to head to the park, to have a coffee or tea just to warm you up. Thereafter attend a short briefing about your Gorilla trek. Then we head into the jungle in search of these shy but gentle giants. Take pleasure and value every minute of the one hour viewing time you have, with these gentle giants. Thereafter we visit the community living at close quarters to the endangered species. All proceeds obtained, are given back to the community, as a token of appreciating their loving warmth they extend towards these gentle, endangered giants. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4

Along this scenic drive, we are taken to the wild side of Rwanda, while we meander through the rolling hills that define the land of Rwanda, taken in by this very spectacular scenery. Arrive in Akagera to have a game drive. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5

We have an early morning game drive and continue to Nyungwe forest: A place home to chimps, other primates and a birding paradise. Dinner and overnight.

Day 6

Wake up to the forest chirping of chattering birds and buzzing of the other creatures. Here we engage on a chimpanzee tracking a walk that will take approximately 3 hours. Discover the beetles, butterflies and forest birds as we search for the chimps. Later take a walk to the community where we get to know more about the Rwandan tradition. Dinner and overnight.

Day 7

Depart the forest and head back to Kigali, visiting a genocide memorial site, while continuing to the capital. Later we encourage everyone to enjoy a cultural extravaganza and dance amongst the warm and kind-hearted Rwandan people. Dinner and overnight.
